  Can any who grew up JW relate to this?

  confession time!

  i was raised in the troof and therefor never "chose" it.

  i find it really hard to get my head around why anyone would ever join this organization as an adult.

  Most converts are some kind of christians in the first place. (Look at the statistics, rarely any progress in non-chritians countries.)

  Dubs are very good at showing you what YOUR CHURCH is doing wrong, so "we must be right then".

  whilst working on a project discussing revisions in the new world translation that they have purposly done to support doctrane (i have many) anyways..... when i cut and paste the literal translation on my pre set web page all was sweet ......though ...... when i cut and paste the nwt translation in my word program it advised the wording needed to be rephrazed to make subjectual sence or that grammar was not correct and needed to be changed ......... interesting i thought .........

  Maybe it's your strange kind of downunder-english?

  I my country grammar and spelling it the only things the WTS does good. Almost perfect.

  Thanks for your support.

  I'll have to leave him alone for a while. May be ill grab my necktie and just show up at the district assembly this summer. That would confuse him. I'd like to show I am not an enemy of the dubs and they don't scare me. I'm just a friendly truthseeker.

  Me: I'am just telling you some truths about our religion you can check out for yourself if you belive I'm joking. How can you excpect yourself to be protected from knowledge abut your own religion while you spend 10 hours a month trying to tear down housholders beliefs for their religion and get them into your own?

  Friend: That's different. I show them an alternative religion, you don't.

  Me: So that means if I promote an other religion we can still be friends?

  Friend: Eeehh....

  Ladies and gentlemen. Where do we go from here???

  i certainly have heard a lot of idiotic stuff during my tenure as a witness - but this one is priceless:.

  a neophyte was complaining about the heat, humidity, physical effort, etc., involved in attending the district convention at veteran's stadium in philadelphia - and she was right.

  it was miserable.

  One elder said in a public talk that Karl Lagerfeld was always using a necktie, and that showed us the importance of allways wearing a necktie on meetings. I heard the talk twice in two different congregations and he gave the same statement both times.

  Do you think JWs actually care if they convert people or not?

  the reason i ask this is because when i was on the field way back in the day - i really couldn't be bothered if the householder was interested or not.

  if they took literature and paid for it (we asked a certain price for literature before it all became on a donation basis) it was a bonus, plus meant money for a cooldrink / tea & cake afterwards.. actually i would prefer it if they weren't interested so i could get away from the door - sometimes their ""conversation stoppers"" made too much sense and i couldn't answer back.. that meant i didn't convert anybody.

  do you think most of the jws' are like that today?

  somehow, she thinks that i think a lot like god now... i just told her how much it bothers me.

  i told her not to correct me, but to trust that jehovah will correct any wrong thinking.... but, i lit into it.

  i just went on and on about how horrible it is to think that and my heart isn't made to feel that way... .

  Isn't it amazing. I have not met one sigle dub yet who really believes that everyone else is going to die. They says "Jehober is judge", "he will look at the hearts" and so on. They just close their eyes for quotes like this:

  "Only Jehovah's Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil." Watchtower 1989 Sep. 1 p.19
